Tullius Cicero Julianus stood to make his first address to the Senate...
"Senators I stand before humbled by the position bestowed upon me, I promise to lead the Senate into a new era of profound significance. We as Senators, Praetors and Aediles all share something in common, we are here not for the betterment of ourselves but for the betterment of the empire. We have an Emperor who has taken control and is seeking to further the glory of Rome, through conquering new lands and bring more peoples into the empire. We as the Senate despite our political thinking need to come together and encourage the Economic growth of the empire. We also could be bringing the Empire into a new age. All the worlds greatest architects, philosophers, mathmeticians, military strategists, sculptors and artists the world has to offer. Let us combine those with what out empire has to offer and we have something that will last down the ages."
Cicero paused thinking about how his fortunes had changed...
"So gentlemen as the Emperor has stated we must keep up with the new pace he has set. We must not let the Empire stagnate, and we should show that the Senate still has relevance in this time and age. So I will encourage any and all proposals and I am sure that my esteemed colleague feels the same."
"I welcome the new senators that have been appointed to the house and hope that they will bring in the drive , enthusiasm and passion to ensure that this empire will last through the ages."
