Of course... your timing is eerie. It would be easy to assume that you and Matthew check the site often enough for whatever reason, and just happend to see that I 'killed' Statius. I'm not assuming that though.
However, were this many months ago when the game was more active, I would have told you that some warning to ME would have been nice too, and that there are no 'save points' where you can expect to return to the same exact spot when 'activity allows'. No sir, not then. Now of course, sure. What the hell. Had I known you were actually busy I would have emailed you before I fiddled with the grand scheme of things.
Email me and we'll work out a storyline. I don't really want you dead if you're going to have time for the game.
For the rest of you (and you, unhappy Jan), the new game will not allow random lengths of inactivity without repercussion. Status and influence WILL be dependant on activity levels, and no- emails 'outlining' a characters schedule won't cut it. You will expect to see situations change when you aren't active. Allies shift, economic situations change, public support changes, etc. In the new game, Emperor AJV wouldn't be elected Consul because he's not active enough. In the new game, if a players like Vitellius Vibius Varro or Tullius Quinus Vitellius took a few IC years off and left their characters inactive, they would not come back to the same level of importance from which they left. They would have to work back up the ladder. It would take longer periods of inactivity for very important players to lose vast amounts of influence and power, because their influence and power was so great. Lesser characters would lose the good stuff much faster, for obvious reasons.
This isn't the new game yet though, so... let's just assume if you don't wanr me you're going to be away, i'm going to tinker with your character. I don't want lingering PC storylines that just magically reappear all wonderful when someone decides they have an itch to play. I know that wasn't you, Jan or Matthew.
Anyway, wee. Let's play.
Ferus Juventas, Everything GM
Decius Cassius Agrippa, Tullius Quinus Vitellius, Quinus Lucius Vitellius, Lucius Tacitus Vitellius
