Senator Esik Vasconnes speaks;

For the past months there has been uneasiness between Rome and its provinces since the resumption of peace. Since the death of the renowned, respeted and feared Magister Militum Occidens Lucius Verus, my patron Proconsul Florianus Julianus has assumed the leadership of the Societas Provinciarum et Limitium.

Through correspondence with him I have brought forward the ill feelings and lack of respect the provinces have shown for this great city and the Proconsul of Hispania has agreed. In the spirit of new love and friendship between the provinces and Rome; we will hold the games of the Societas Provinciarum et Limitium in Rome. There will be free produce from the provinces for all who attend and champion provincial gladiators from Emerita Augusta and Pertinaxus will be sent to Rome to fight against Rome’s great gladiators!

I hope many of you can attend! All Rome is welcomed.

Lucius Carus stands and listens in the crowd. He is dressed in northern blue, a wolfs head adorning him as always. He says nothing. He had been part of the Societas since its founding. He had tried to call meetings of it several times before the northern rebellion and always been ignored. and now this nobody... he walked out. He muttered darkly as he shoved his way through the crowd with less decorum than a civilized man, speaking of Rome and now his own north betraying him.

Although generally confused by the organization mentioned, the crowd reacted favorably to the news of yet more games.
