Being told the day was auspicious for such a display, Emperor Lucius Tacitus Vitellius unveiled a column in the Forum Persicus, which was completed and opened to the public just before the civil wars in 134. The first monument to be placed in the forum dedicated to Helvius Tiberius Vitellius Persicus is the column of Reconcilius, and depicts the two times that Aelianus Julius Vitellius moved to save Rome from disaster. Reliefs of germanic actions, Hispanic actions, his coronation and depictions of his reign adorn the column. It is the first monument erected in the reign of Lucius Tacitus Vitellius.
