Former Imperator Aelianus Julius Vitellius, once announced to be the new Praefectus Praetorio as well as Proconsular Legate of Italia with one legion at his disposal, has been removed from the Praefectus post. The move by Imperator Lucius Tacitus Vitellius wasn't explained publicly, but those who have been watching the imperial court aren't surprised the former Emperor had the important post removed from his control. In his place, Pompeius Germanicus Varro, a son of Divus Pompeius and last surviving Tribune of the old Praetorian Guard, has been promoted to Praefectus Praetorio. The former Imperator will remain Proconsular Legate over his legion outside Rome, but little is expected from him by anyone in Rome.
