News of a death

Postby Jason on Wed Mar 11, 2009 5:00 pm

It is my sad duty to inform everyone that as of 12:47PM on March 11th, 2009 Roman Legion Inc. was officially pronounced dead... It will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers. This unfortunate turn of events was inevitable when Ferus became the only true active GM and Roman Legion took a mortal hit when the one named Neos Dionysos officially went AWOL. I am sad to see that this site died off like a squirming biatch instead of dying with some dignity. However, this was also inevitable all good things do come to an end eventually. We had some good times (ganging on Jay Yoon) and we had some bad times (D’arcy being a GM), but all in all it was fun.
Isn't it funny that two people whom were seen as the biggest nuisance the site had seen were among the most active in the game? And when they were driven off by said GM(s) the site died off with it. I officially take my leave unless GM’s contact me as my attempts to reach them have gone unheard.

I find this post in poor taste man.

Jay is still active. Maybe ONE GM active is not ideal for this game, but that is hardly dead. And Phil disappearing ISNT new.

but ya know what? it requires patience.

I know Jay is gonna raise an eyebrow at me considering my recent orders, but those were because I realized my abilities to fill the role I had fallen into were inadequate, NOT because of anything beyond me.

My lot is still cast in this games survival. It has alot of good players, and honestly, I think if people volunteered to help Jay in some way INSTEAD of trying to chase people off like this thread is trying to do, I am SURE Jay would appreciate all help offered.

The post has nothing to do with your actions.. nor does it refer to Jay being "Inactive" successful reading requires proper reading, then successful interpretation please re-read my post.

As for the post in general... it is much needed as I have sent emails to SS and constantly attempted to speak with Jay over ICQ (He ignored me) to get things in the east moving along I have been waiting for (2 months)... It is sad when other players are asking me "Hey whats going on in the east" and I have to tell them "No clue still waiting on word from SS..." Eddie can attest to that as I have on countless occasions told him how I have attempted to speak with Jay.... funny how Jay found the need to wait until I made this post to decide I die.. humorous id say.

One last thing.. what on earth are you trying to convey here?

Ya know.. re-reading, I see the same thing. I see you declaring the game dead for everyone, becuase a GM was too swamped to be able to respond to you as you wished them to.

Sour grapes. Keep em in your basket, because frankly, Jay is doing the best he can. Two rebellions (one of which was caused by you), players still in Rome needing attention as well, battles, scenarios, and his own real life to manage. If you want his full and undevided attention, pay him full time wages then. Untill that, seriously, respect that he's a volunteer and don't try and taint other peoples moods.

As for my comment, it was more directed to Jay than you prehaps. I issued orders recently for my character that he may have misunderstood the reasoning behind. He may have thought it was out of frustration at the situation (ie, the eastern battles beign dumped on him to handle at hte last minute, meaning he wasnt aware of all teh details), but in truth, it was because I am not capable of the writing required for a military commander and was basically setting my character up to fade him off into the background of things. But the fact remains that I kept that frustration to myself after discussing it with Jay which I may add took some time as he WAS hard to reach. I did not try and spoil the game for the others still enjoying it as this post of yours attempted to do.

You can use all the sophisticated grammer and vocabulary you wish, but in the end, a pouting post, is still a pouting post.

Had I the image, my first reply to you would have been simply a "drama llama" and nothing else.

This game is very much alive, despite your claims, even if it isnt working to your requirements.

Seeing as it isn't dead, I cannont wait to finish up in Alexandria and move on from there. If you believe it is dead, oh well, you have your own forums you have started, which isnt bad. I just hold alot of respect for RL because it has been a very creative part of my life. I've got to meet some really neat and interesting folks here that have crazy imaginations of myselfs. I have met others that are the opposite of me, that absolutely piss me off, but thats all part of the game, and I have enjoyed my time here and will keep enjoying it.

I'm not pointing this out to you Jason, but there should be a good deal of respect for the Game and GM's in general, since they have put so much of their time into this game for YEARS. Im looking through an old rp community I use to work with to see if I can pull some of them towards RL, because I truely do want to see this game go on, even with a restart.

I'm not saying I dislike RL... simply frustrated how after Evan walked out I was ignored by GM's and not contacted to go further with my own storyline.

As for you ben... thats the funniest thing you've ever come up with

I didn't come up with it.

You've got no right to declare anything dead because the GMs were mean to you. Stop being a bitch.

Thanks for saying nice things, those of you who did. I laughed at the wit and sarcasm some of you threw out there too. The fact of the matter is that Jason is almost entirely correct- this game will never see the glory it once did, and it is dying (I would be deaf and dumb to believe otherwise). Where he is wrong is in saying this game is dead. I'm not going to explain the how and why of handling his storyline, because those involved already know how it went. I am determined to keep storylines running until the new game starts even if those of you still playing cease submitting material, and in that this game will continue. I will also be pushing ahead with storylines even if the players involve cease to be active. The way to keep this going until the new game begins is to continously process the storyline so there is always something happening. Now that the east is settled, there is no more need for lag and I am capable of pushing ahead with time on the run.

I'd also like to remind all of you that your ideas and suggestions are encouraged in regard to the new game. Creation of a player-generated game should reflect the wishes of those that play, I believe, and those of you still playing this game are likely to have things you want to see in the next.

Ben do I sense that those nuts of yours have finally fallen from your stomach?.... being a bitch you say? pfft Please your the biggest ass-kisser, ex GM who couldn't hack it.

You were on the other day right after I made this post.. I saw you were viewing the topic. Five minutes later you msg'd me inquiring about my "new game" so stop trying to put on a show like your "shocked" about what I say. Many of you can argue the things I said but you all sit there an know most of what I say is true.

The game is dead... accept it and stop dwelling over its death.
Move on, think happy thoughts about the good times we had.
