Yes I've read Saylor's Gordinius books and I enjoyed them.


As for "famous" Romans you could add Marcus Licinius Crassus, Tiberius Gracchus, Publius Clodius Pulcher, Brutus and Lucius Sergius Catilina of the Cataline Conspiracy. Maybe this list is a bit more obscure but being a member of the triarii (leans on walking stick) maybe some of these names got stuck in my mind and have just flowed out. Very Happy

I read ¨Centurion¨in the Eagle series by Simon Scarrow when they leave Britian to go fight the Parthians. You so know where the whole series is leadng the way they keep talking up Vespasian.
