Rumors 137 AD: Florianus in command of Roman Army in East?

Postby JayMichaelBecker on Thu Jun 18, 2009 8:15 pm

Word has arrived by messenger from Magister Militum Carus Florianus Julianus that he has taken command of the army of the east following its serious defeat to the Phrygians early this year. He states in his message he found Magister Militum Annius Sabaco gravely wounded and in fever, he has sent him under guard to Antioch until he recovers from his wounds. The exiled patrician has stated his intention to continue the war, merging his own private army with the Roman Army of the East into and unstoppable formidable force. Surprisingly reactions on the streets is favorable- will new Emperor Lucius Tacitus Vitellius intervene?
